One of CURE's key strategic objectives is to identify specific disabilities in the developing world on which we can have a major impact. To date, we have two programs in place to target clubfoot and cleft lip/palate, which are two of the most common congential birth defects. Both can be easily cured. Clubfoot can be corrected by early identification and intervention. Cleft lip/palate can be treated through surgerical intervention. CURE will work with the world's best medical experts to establish evidence-based protocols that can be implemented across all of our hospitals to treat these conditions.
In addition to identifying specific disabilities, CURE is focused on providing training and education programs to national medical professionals. These individuals then have the knowledge and skills to share with others and raise the standard of care in their countries.
