We have found that there are certain common qualities and characteristics of individuals who most successfully serve in the developing world. CURE ideally seeks candidates for long-term overseas assignments who possess the following:
- Commitment to the mission of CURE International
- Evidence of spiritual maturity
- Sound physical and emotional health
- Supportive family
- Culturally flexible in relationships with diverse people
- Knowledge of developing country settings and/or cross cultural experience
- Good communication, interpersonal and administrative skills
- Ability to deal with hardship situations and frustrations
- Desire to train national staff
- Ability to motivate and lead others
- International travel experience
Fund Raising Expectations
All employees are encouraged to promote CURE International with their churches, families and friends but we do not require that a set amount of funds be raised prior to departure for assignment. CURE International has an experienced development staff dedicated to raising awareness and funds for capital construction and ongoing operations of our facilities and who are available to provide assistance in these areas.
