The life expectancy of a child with hydrocephalus isn't much beyond age 5. The condition, which is also called water on the brain, is a build up of fluid on the brain. In the developing world, it is a death sentence. Mothers are told by traditional healers to throw their children away or let them drown in the river. With your help, we can save their lives. CURE Uganda was the first neurosurgical hospital in East Africa and the first hope for children with hydrocephalus. Now, through the training efforts of CURE, parents in Zambia are now offered the same hope for their children.
At the CURE hospital in Uganda, Andrew received the treatment that saved his life! You can help a child like Andrew live a happier, healthier life.
